September 7th Club Night Report

Club Night Roundup: Weird War, Shadow Wars and Mixed Fortunes for Nurgle
A busy night at Crit Happens on Monday 7th September, with everything from Konflikt ’47 demos to D&D adventures keeping the dice rolling. Here’s how the evening went.
Konflikt ’47
The Axis took on the United States in this week’s demo games, giving players a taste of the weird war. An alternate history where the war didn’t end in 1945, and everything got considerably stranger. Always good to have opportunities to try something different at the club.
Kill Team
A good night for the loyalist Space Marines in Kill Team:
- Plague Marines vs. Phobos Strike Team – The Phobos Strike Team took the win against Nurgle’s finest. A result worth celebrating, followed by a very thorough decontamination.
- Mandrakes vs. Deathwatch – The Deathwatch came out on top against the sinister Mandrakes. Hunting xenos is the job description, after all.
Warhammer: The Old World
Orc & Goblin Tribes vs. Empire of Man – A victory for the Empire against the greenskins. Somewhere, an Imperial official is already preparing the commemorative paperwork. The Orcs will presumably be requesting a rematch by shouting louder.
Infinity
Morat Aggression Forces vs. Ramah Taskforce – The Morats took the win in this week’s Infinity matchup. With “Aggression” right there in the name, nobody can accuse them of being unclear about their intentions.
Warhammer 40,000
Plenty happening in the far future, with mixed fortunes for the followers of Nurgle:
- Chaos Space Marines vs. Necrons – The followers of Chaos Undivided claimed victory over the Necrons. A setback for the ancient metal overlords and another reason to regret getting out of their tombs.
- Death Guard vs. Ultramarines – The Death Guard took this one. There are some problems that even a strict reading of the Codex Astartes won’t solve.
- Raven Guard vs. Ultramarines – A meeting between two very different schools of Space Marine warfare. An opportunity to settle a few doctrinal disagreements on the tabletop.
- Death Guard vs. Adeptus Mechanicus – The Adeptus Mechanicus secured the win, giving the Death Guard less to celebrate in this encounter. Praise the Omnissiah, and remember to disinfect the machinery.
- Tyranids vs. Leagues of Votann – The Kin faced the Hive Mind. One side sees valuable resources; the other sees dinner.
Dungeons & Dragons
Our D&D groups were also in session, adding their own adventures to the evening’s gaming. Plenty happening beyond the battlefields, and no shortage of opportunities to complicate a Dungeon Master’s plans.
